Egyptians
Egyptians are the inhabitants and citizens of Egypt sharing a common culture and a dialect of Arabic.
Egyptian identity is closely tied to geography as is common with most races. The population of Egypt is concentrated in the lower Nile valley, and the small strip of land stretching from the First Cataract to the Mediterranean. This unique geography has been the basis of the development of Egyptian society since Ancient times. If regarded as a single ethnic group, the Egyptian people constitute one of the world's largest.

One Major Tradition
A tradition that most people would know about is that it is tradition for woman to marry virgin. Their virginity being considered by men the prove of a good karma and mortality. Woman wear a scarf on their heads as a symbol of Muslim piety, their obedience and modesty. According to the Islam tradition a woman have to be modest and not at all seductive to a stranger man. The general idea why women do this is so they are not seen as sex objects. If they all look the same, they will only be judged on their personality instead of self image. It was mainly elderly who wore it but in time more woman go put into wearing it by cultural families. -Bianca
5 Reasons
1)Most Egyptians (Muslims) believe God requires to cover their hair. Many people who don't believe it's 'required' and that it is just 'preferable' for woman to cover their hair.
2) Head-covers convey a message of purity and godliness to many observers. Different tradition of religious iconography use mantles and other head-covers to symbolize purity and even saintliness.
3) Many people believe that a headscarf engenders respect and honor for women, thus preventing men from flirting, etc.
4) Headscarves actually accentuate many women's beauty by drawing attention to the face and away from the hair and the body. In many cultures, the face is more important as a place of beauty than is the body, and head-covers facilitate this focus toward the face, facial expression, conversation, etc.
5) For many Muslim women, head-covers are culturally normative and/or beloved, and are part of an ethnic outfit.
